I5-4690K @ 4.6ghz vs i7-4790 for basic HD video rendering

I am going to be configuring a PC with either an i5-4690K @ 4.6ghz with article mx-4 thermal compound with a cooler master hyper 212 EVO or an i7-4790 with the standard cooler I will use the PC for basic hd video rendering in Vegas and I want to know which one will give faster render times, I will be recording minecraft gameplay but other than that no heavy gaming

Lol, how do you know you will get 4.7ghz, many 4690k's top out much lower than this.

For heavy editing the i7 would be better but for basic editing an i5 is plenty good enough

Neither. Get a xeon e3-1231v3 on a cheap b85/h97 board. Saves you money compared to either option and is as fast as an i7.

not overclocking? screw it get a fast Xeon E3 like what dubbleclick said hell it is even awesome for gaming
