I'm running an i5-4690k at 5.2 ghz 1.710 volts, can this be causing damage to the cpu?

Reduce the voltage. Be happy with what you get in the safe voltage range.

5.2 is a pretty hefty overclock... voltage at auto? or did you do anything in bios or was it via software.

Auto voltage would not work over safe limit, so this must be manual.

OP, never heard someone using ln2 24/7. It is not viable.

I can no longer boot to windows with the desired voltage so there is something going on. I'm using water cooling with temperature below 0 and radiator in liquid that is also below 0 celsius.

I am using antifreeze, but the system boots into windows at 5.1ghz 1.595v

i know this is a stupid question but why?
also why are you using a 4690k?
do you have cooling for the vrm's and so forth?

Vrms have heatsinks and i5-4690k is my old cpu. I recently won an i7-8086k from a giveaway so the i5-4690k is being pushed to it's limits.

Dragos manea's suggestion worked the best. I reduced the voltage to 1.23v and the clock speed to 4.7 ghz!

For becnhmark scores, using LN2 would make a big difference, it would much more stable at higher voltages, also it would require less voltage for a certain frequency.

The higher the temperature, the more resistance you'll get making your overclocks unstable. Anything above 1.55v you absolutely need nitrogen, liquid helium.

But i'd recommend watching a tutorial on LN2, it is not easy. You need to run the proper procedures when using it.
