i5 4690k at 3.5 ghz and a gtx 1050 2gb with 12 gb of ddr3 ram

so i just built this pc yesterday and its been running like complete dog shit. I barely get 40 fps in games like cs go and minecraft. My other build had a shitty cpu clocked at like 2.3 ghz and that ran like 5 times better than now. IDK WHAT TO DO

Are you sure that you applied the thermal paste properly? If you didn't, you could be having some major problems. Also, if you put too much thermal paste on, you might want to edge off. I dont have much information for your specific case, but I think that you might be having thermal throttling problems. Also fans would be of concern here.
