i5-4690k best paired with a GTX 960 or R9 380 for GAMING

I'm getting a i5-4690k with a AsRock Fatal1ty Killer Z97 so I can OC my build. I'm having trouble deciding if I should get the GTX 960 or the Radeon R9 380. I plan on using these parts to play games High/Ultra Settings. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Or you could save $100 by getting an i5 4590 and cheaper H97 mobo rather than a 4690k, Z97 mobo, and CPU cooler and putting that money towards a GTX 970 or R9 390.

The small difference between a 4590 and OCed 4690k would be greatly outweighed by a much better GPU.

although, on the other side of the fence, having a K cpu would last a bit longer, possibly surviving several gpu upgrades.
im still using my old and trusty 2500k. not the fastest out there, but with the oc, it is still fast enough today

As for the r9 380 vs the gtx 960, the 960 is a bit more efficient but the 380 generally gets a few more FPS all else being equal.

Although I might take the advice of the earlier poster and get the cheaper mobo and cpu and spend that money on a 970, which is the better price/performance point, especially considering that DX12 will be out soon enough and GPU power will be much more important than CPU power.
