Hello all.
I've recently built a gaming rig for my son.
The build went well until I tried to install an i5 4690k into an Asus B85m-g. The system did not post.
To cut a long story short, I got my hands on a couple other cpus. The i3 4130 works perfectly well and I was able to get the rig up and running. I did some research and found the the bios may need updated so I did this via a flash drive in the bios screen. The i5 is still not posting. It did occur to me that the i5 was done however I also tried a Pentium g3460 (i think) and still the same result as the i5. No post. The only thing I can see is that the i5 and pentium need at least the 2001 bios update to work whereas the working i3 is an earlier version. Any ideas how I can get this working?
