I5 4690k cooling problems

Hello guys as u can see in title i am having a problem with my stock cooler. Few moments ago while i was playing dota2 i opened real temp app and it showed me 85-90 degrees! distance to tj max 10 degrees, so why are the temperatures are so high and could it damage my procesor since i played like 2 hours with that temp. Help please

p.s. before this i was using other (non-stock) cooler and temp was 70 degrees but i had to move it to another pc.

have you overclocked your processor?

since you recently changed cpu coolers, i would make sure to clean off the old thermal paste properly, and reapply it.


also, are you overclocking on the stock cooler?

it is above 85C start worrying the sweet spot for a long time usage is 79C dont let it go above that

put new paste ...it can mean a diffrence of 20 C and make sure the cooler is GOOD fit and it has proper contact

This is what u need to do

2) Apply new thermal paste

Also make sure your CPU is not overclocked.

Cpu is not overclocked, i didnt apply new termal paste since i dont have it and there are rly few of it on left on the surface tnx for answers. Do u think this could do some dmg to procesor for this period of 2hours?

Can u recomnd some nice quiet cooler since am planing on overclokcing till price range 80 euro

if you didnt apply new paste, then dont waste your money on a new cooler...

If you keep your cpu on these temps then you might damage it.
Just get a thermal paste mate and make sure to install the heatsink properly

Also if you are looking for an aftermarket quiet aircooling solution go with BeQuiet or Noctua
