So I am going to start overclocking but had some concerns. I bumped my clock up to 4.6GHz and my Vcore to 1.35v but within the first few seconds of me running the IBT my temps jump up into the high 80's and 90's. not sure if this is normal or not, but i don't want to run it too hard and risk anything. I'm using a hyper 212 evo for cooling

Solution
Turn down the core voltage thats probably too high for that cooler to handle. That said you will probably be okay if its not crashing, IBT is unrealistic your temps will never get that high gaming or with normal use. But still it would probably be best to turn down the voltage a bit.

so i put it to 4.5GHz and my Vcore down to 1.3v and running IBT at 5 times to run the max temp i got was 88. You think that's safe? you think i could bump it back up to 4.6GHz?

88 is a bit hot but it is in acceptable limits like i said you wont see that temp with normal use anyways so you should be good as long as your not running IBT all day lol. Yea give it a shot if it freezes or crashes bump it back down to 4.5.
