I5 4690k upgrade to new ryzen or i7 4790k?

Hi. I noticed that amd is about to come up witn new cpus and should i upgrade to i7 4790k and sell my i5 or upgrade to new ryzen and sell my i5 mobo and ram? Where should i buy i7 4790k ? where should i sell my i5 mobo and ram?

I think that you should wait a little. If the specs of AMD's Ryzen look good for the price and/or they do something extraordinary, I would recommend getting that but otherwise, the 7th gen Intel i7 should get you along well for the next 3-5 years at most. For selling your parts, I recommend eBay, its the next best thing if you don't want to buy a seller license on Amazon to sell computer parts.

I looked that on ebay i5 4690k sells for around 200$ and my sabertooth mark2 z97 doesnt exist but seems like ill get around 100$. But then my quiestion is , if lets say amd releases a great cpu for 200$ that would outperform my i5 then my i5 wouldnt go for 200$ anymore but more like 140 right?

Yes, the price drop might not be that major but it will definitely drop.

It really depends on your 1) Monitor; 2) Video card; 3) What you use your computer for?

If you have a 1080p/60 Hz monitor, or RX 390/GTX 970 video card, and all you do is playing The Division or Rainbow Six: Siege... it doesn't mean much to upgrade from 4690k to anything else.

If you have a 1440p/144 Hz monitor, GTX 980 Ti, then it may make sense although I would spend the money elsewhere more meaningful.

4790k only losses to the new 7700 K kaby Lake by a small amout . I looked at some benchmarks for ryzen and it looks close to the 4790k I would get the 4790k cuz it'll drop rite in without a motherboard change.

The 4790k will give you some longevity out of your rig that you have now then you could look at an 8th generation Intel in two years.

Where should i pick the i7 4790k from? i live in Canada and here the new once are more expensive than r7 1700 or i7 6700k, ebay? i never bought anything from ebay ,what shouldi look for or how not to get scamed or buy a fried i7

Just buy from trusted seller, i got my i7 and mobo used from ebay and they work without problems.
If you are afraid that you will get broken one, then buy from someone who offers returns.
