So I bought ripjaws x 1600 3DDR ram 2 X 4gb ram for an upgrade in my dell i5 580 desktop.

Here is the link to what I bought:

http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=20-231-428

Now I know I should have done more research but will it work in my computer cuz I just notice on the dell website under my motherboard manual it says

Memory connector - four internally accessible 3DDR DIMM

memory module capacity - 1gb, 2gb and 4gb

memory type - 1066-MHz or 1333-MHz DDR3 DIMM;non-ECC memory only

memory configurations supported - 4GB, 6 GB, and 8 GB

Note:Memory configurations of morethan 4 GB require a 64-bit operating system

I keep hearing that my computer won't support more than 2 gigabytes of RAM per slot, but the RAM I bought is 4 gigabytes per slot. But I don't see anything on this motherboard manual that says that it won't support more than two gigabytes per slot. Can somebody please shed some light on this subject?

Is the computer not booting the problem?
Did you remove the previous modules and install these?
The supported memory of the board states DDR3-1333 and those modules are DDR3-1600. The motherboard "should" clock them appropriately, but that might be the issue.

I installed them but the computer will try to start up for about 10 seconds but won't get past the Dell loading screen and then it shuts off and then turns back on for 10 seconds and then shuts off and it repeats this over and over. I completely removed all the other ram but it won't work with the new RAM installed. I put both sticks next to each other in the slots next to the middle fan. And then I took them out and I tried putting the RAM in the numbered slots 1 & 2. I don't know if they're specifically supposed to be in a certain slot or if it doesn't really matter.
