i5 6400 overclock?

Hi, I want to overclock my Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6400 CPU @ 2,70GHz 2,71GHz (Up to 3,3GHz)
Is it possible? And can someone help me overclocking it, if it is possible, thanks!

Hi Jimiih,

You'll need an unlocked 'k' model processor like the i5-6600k to overclock. The i5-4600 is a locked model so no overclocking I'm afraid. 🙁

Sorry it's not possible , the 6600K and the 6700k are the only Skylake CPU's that are unlocked and overclockable.

You would also need a Z170 board.

Not sure where you saw that, but the stock frequency of the i5-4460 is 3.2GHz so that's probably what you're going to be getting. As BB stated above, you're confusing Turbo with overclock.

EDIT: I know how to turbo boost, but can I turbo boost it? Like to max or half?

It will use the Turbo mode when it needs it.

but the baseclock on skylake is free from the gpu etc so you could overclock it the old facion was right?
