I am excluding th 6600k because I am not planning to overclock because of my budget (I know there's hyper 212 evo, etc etc... I want to keep as cheap as possible. Plus it won't fit on the cases for my needs on my price range )

I am planning to play CPU intensive games like Arma 3.

I know the best option is 6600. But.

How much difference in performance there is beetween the three CPUs?

If 6400 vs 6600 there's a 10 fps difference I would definitely stick with 6400.

Thanks

Just look at the clockspeeds:

i5 6400 - 2.7ghz base / 3.3ghz turbo
i5 6500 - 3.2ghz base / 3.6ghz turbo
i5 6600 - 3.3ghz base / 3.9ghz turbo

In terms of turbo frequency, there's a roughly 10% increase between each CPU, so if the 6500 is 10% more expensive or less than the 6400, it's a slightly better value. 10% of 60fps is 6fps, so you might hypothetically expect to see 60 -> 66 -> 72fps with each of these chips.

Why not consider the newer 7xxx CPUs though? They're priced about the same but clocked higher than the older 6xxx CPUs.

i5 7400 - 3.0 / 3.5
i5 7500 - 3.4 / 3.8
i5 7600 - 3.5 / 4.1

Thank you everyone. Thanks for the kaby lake tip, they are pri ed exactly the same in my country. I will try to get 7500, if money problems, i will get 7400. After you answer and watching some benchmarks, difference beetween 400 and 500 is not noticeable. Thanks
