I'm building a gaming PC and the video card that I'm getting is the AMD RX 480 8GB. However I have an option between the i5 6400 or the i7 6700. I will be just using this computer for gaming, internet browsing and word processing mostly. With the budget I'm running, I could choose to go for the I5 6400 and use the money I'm saving to get an SSD boot drive. Any thoughts?

With the rx 480 I dont think it matters which cpu you get, since both are capable of feeding it. An i7 6700 might last you longer than the i5, but an ssd will make a huge difference speed wise compared to a hdd.

An i5 6400+ssd+rx 480 will be a good setup for 1080p 60fps gaming. A good budget ssd is the samsung evo 750 250gb, it's fairly cheap and good quality.

I realized I posted my thread in the memory forum so I'll repost it here in the CPU forum.
