hi, Am i getting a bottleneck problem with my rig and my gtx 460 oc'ed gpu?

specs:
cpu: i5-650
mobo: asus p7h55-m (maybe this is the problem?)
RAM: 8gb ddr3

Is there any cpu speed or mobo requirement listed for a gpu to avoid bottlenecking?

we need more info. why do u feel u are being bottlenecked? what tests have you run? when is the bottleneck happening? it could be that ur running a dual core cpu, but i cant say for sure without more info.

i tried furmark's benchmark testing app and i only got around 32-34 fps throughout the 60 secs. Games seems to be smooth even on max settings (except the resolution is only on 1280x800 as the old monitor's max res). Is that range of fps for GTX 460 normal?

what kind of setting did you use for your benchmark? btw i believe furmark geared towards more on gpu stability test rather than a benchmark to measure gpu exact performance. try running programs like Unigine Heaven which is true benchmark for measuring gpu raw performance.

thanks for the tip. I'll use that for other games. btw i used crysis' benchmark tool and compared the avg. fps rate here in tom's hardware and got similar fps rate of 60+. Looks like i5 and gtx 650 doesn't bottleneck after all. i might have read exaggerated fps rates on their rig.
