Hello,
I have an i5-6500 paired with a Gigabyte micro ATX GA-110M-A motherboard and an EVGA Supernova G2 650W power supply.
The problem is that the clock speed does not go above 3300 MHz even though the turbo boost is supposed to be 3.6 Ghz.
I went into the BIOS settings and changed the setting for Intel Turbo Boost from 'Auto' to 'Enabled". Even that did not have an effect.
I used Prime95 to test my cpu, but even under the most 'tortorous' conditions, it stays at 3300 Mhz with 100 % CPU utilization.
In the BIOS however, where it shows real time CPU frequency, I do see the processor going to 3600 Mhz occasionally (it constantly fluctuates but it does hit 3600 Mhz for a few seconds).
Is there any solution for this? I am running windows 8.1 64-bit.
