Hi guys,

So basically im trying to build something as cheap as possible but im stuck with GPU.

I came up with this set up so far:

CPU i5-6500
RAM: Crucial ballistix 2x4gb,
Cooler: CM Hyper 212
MO/BO: MSi B150 PC Mate
Case: BitFenix Nova ATX mid case
HDD: Toshiba 500gb, 7200RPM, 3.5"
Power supply: Corsair CXM 450W

Not sure which GPU to choose, because only games i play are CSGO and dota2(please dont suggest me more memory or SSD because i wont use them! I need to it store windows, Chrome, spotify, csgo and dota2 :D) and basically im building this for these games. I have 144hz monitor as well so i expect to get around 200fps+ stable in csgo.

Cant spend more than around £560 for this machine.

If you have any notes for this build and options for GPU please leave a comment! Thanks!

I suggest you build first using the included discrete graphics adapter.

No, it is not gaming quality, but you should get a better idea of what you need/want.

The I5-6500 comes with a perfectly adequate cooler if the price differential from the tray version is not that much.

I suspect that a I3-7100 or G4620 may well be a more appropriate cpu because of the higher clock rate.
In looking around, I came across this guide for tiered rigs for CSGO that you might find useful

I did not look further for how this might apply to DOTA2

Is this just for strictly those games?

Something like an RX 570 4GB would probably max out CS:GO at 200+ FPS easy with an i5-6500, Dota 2 should be no problem either. If you plan on playing more intensive games at 1080p 144 Hz a RX 580 would be able to do this to a certain degree at Medium/High settings but a GTX 1070 would be ideal.

This would be my recommendation:

1080p 144 Hz just Dota 2 and CS:GO > RX 570 4GB.
1080p 144 Hz mainly Dota 2 and CS:GO but some better headroom for other games > RX 580 4/8GB
1080p 144 Hz with ideal performance for almost any game > GTX 1070

Thanks for reply man.

Strictly for these games. I dont play anything else than these. I dont even play on 1080p. Usually 1078x768 4:3. Source engine doesnt need good graphics card. Its mainly cpu intensive. So i dont need 1070 bruh. Something cheaper? Perhaps amd gpus..?

Sounds like an easy job for an RX 570 in that case without overspending on a stronger card. Here is a good cheaper one:
