I just noticed this while overclocking my rx480 & monitoring temps. Originally it was showing correctly in cpuz/hw monitor when I built the system. Now it reports I have a dual core i5 with 4 threads. I've tried going into msconfig as well as entering the bios but the issue still remains. In the bios it correctly reports that I have a quad core i5. Also device manager still is reporting that I have a quad core cpu too. I haven't really noticed any performance hit but it has me worried that either my motherboard or cpu is defective.

Any ideas guys? If something is defective I'd like to get it sorted out while I'm still covered under warranty.

It looks like its still using all 4 cores in task manager which is good news. Still strange that multiple system information apps are somehow glitched.
