I'm trying to finalize my build. I really only have two components that I'm torn on. The GPU and CPU.

Right now its between the 6500 and 4460 for the CPU. The 4460 fits my budget better, and would allow me to get a 970 Twin Frozr (or opt for a 390 for even more savings).

I'm going to just be doing gaming and basic work productivity stuff. In the end, I'll probably have a dual-monitor setup for doing work, but only use a single 1080p monitor for gaming.

Which CPU should I go with, in light of my needs and the fact that I'm deciding between a 970 and a 390 for the GPU? Thanks.

And just to update and clarify: I won't be doing any upgrading on this system on a part-by-part basis. I intend for this system to last, as it stands, for 3 or so years. I'm also not looking for any frills or overclocking. Just a system that does what I need it to do without complaints.

First off definitly the 390. Its stronger then the 970. Especially if you want to crossfire it later after those three years. As for the CPU it depends on the prices. For longevity if you want good performance for longer I would go the 6500 way. but what's the difference in price you would be paying in your country?

The price difference between the CPUs is about $30. But then the mobo and RAM changes also. Overall, the cost reduction is about $65.

Well the 6500 is about 20% better if you feel spending the extra 65$ is worth it, go for it. But that's because of the games I play. What games do you play bc if your playing AAA titles, like witcher, assassin's creed, bf4 or cod it won't really matter and it isn't worth it. But if your playing single core intensive games like arma 3 for example its well worth the money.
