Apollo_3 :
so right now im at a 4.2 overclock at 1.25 volts and everything is stable ran aida64 for 10 min and max temp was about 54 deg c
I want to overclock to 4.4 ghz but what core volts should i be at to be stable???
That varies per chip. I have my i5 6600K running at 4.4GHz at 1.150V, but I've seen people online saying they had to up the voltage to 1.2V or above to be stable at that speed. It seems I got lucky with my chip.
Look, just keep bumping up the speed .1GHz at a time, and retest for stability after each bump. If your system is unstable after a bump then bump up the voltage by .025V. Repeat until you start reaching reach voltages or temperatures you are no longer comfortable with.
Also, don't forget to run Firestrike or...
