i5-6600k low performance vmplayer

I have an i5-6600k and i want to use it for vmplayer and run windows 10 in virtueelmachine but its realy slow. Im using 3 core sfor the machine i cant even play minecraft or do an update on the machine it use 8 out of 16 gb ram its relly slow and takes a lot of time to install programs what can i do do i have to upgrade my cpu? To wich cpu
