Both cpus are 'about''the same when it comes to gaming performance. Get i5 and the money you save by not getting i7 spend on better graphics card.

Go for the i5-6600k and spend the money you save on a better graphics card.

For gaming, an i5+980 combo beats an i7+970 every time.
