Hi my fellow hardware addicts!
After a long time coming to this place to seek for advice, I've decided to join the community.
Today, I want to share my new overclock and to read some of your opinions about it.

My rig counts with an i5 6600K and I keep it cool with a Hyper 212X. I also have a gtx 1070.
I wanted to be cautious with this overclock (as I want my cpu to last as long as possible) so
I went with 4.4 gHz (on all four cores) and 1.27 V.
After 2 hours of this Custom test on prime95 (

) the highest temperature recorded by Core Temp was 62ºC (average was about 57ºC). Afterwards, i did 25 cycles of Intel Burn Test on Very High,
being the max temp 70ºC.Tomorrow I'll test prime95 for 12 hours but I'm guessing my system is pretty stable.
I have to say cpu never reached those 1.27V, but was around 1.18/1.2 all the time.
Temperature on idle is 30ºC and while playing (all ultra and highest textures and effects possible) it stays around 45ºC.
I've noticed some mayor improvements for me. For example, in The Witcher 3 I have v-sync activated to 60fps (1080p 60hz monitor), but sometimes, in heavy load zones, as a giant forest with rain and sunshine while running and fighting at the same time, fps would drop to 50/55. After my OC I get those 60 stable fps I wanted so bad.

I would be glad to hear your opinions and advice on this overclock. Do you think voltages and temperatures are okay? Personally, I think I could push it a little to 4.5 or maybe 4.6 with this voltage, but as I said before, I prefer to be cautious and enjoy, moreover if being too greedy could damage my cpu.

Thanks for your time!

You could easily go to 4.6ghz without damaging your CPU I'd rekon.... but yeah your system looks really really stable.

However, if you can, run OCCT, OCCT is one of the best i've seen when it comes to finding errors, even stuff prime95 doesn't see.

I'll try OCCT today!
If I have some inestabilities or if I set OC to 4.5 or 4.6 in the future I'll post it, it may help folks trying to OC their 6600K

Well, I have some news.

OCCT gave me an error already at minute five so even though other programs seemed to mark my system as stable this one clearly did not. Soo I raised voltages little by little and finally I got stable results at 4.4 gHz and 1.285 V. I did not see the cpu reach that voltage but OCCT did gave me an error at 1.28 so...
Temperatures are only a couple degrees hotter (33-35 idle, approx 50 while hardcore gaming, 65 as OCCT max peak) but less than expected, taking into account the higher voltage.
I may push it in a couple of years to 4.6 and 1.3 but I wanna see the long term result with this settings first.

Thank you for your attention!
