I am going to upgrade my PC soon.
My budget would be 700 Euros.
Can someone tell me what to upgrade?

Im running a i5 6600k 4.0 Ghz with an MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X.
I dont know the Cpu Cooler name anymore. But its some normal one.
Asus Z170 Pro gaming
2x8GB DDR4 3000MHz
Corsair CX600 PSU
All that in a Sharkoon BD28

I dont know if i should go with a i7 7700k and a better cooling to overclock or with the i7 8700k and new Motherboard... Or maybe you guys have a better deal for me.

Thank you already

if you wanted a new case, I can easily recommend you the one I have that fits my kraken x62 and my 1080 Ti which is 269mm.
There is still room between the GPU and the cooler. And your GPU is 279mm and there is still enough room for that.

Here you go.

You need to get back to us with your cooler's name/make and model. If you still can't identify it, a picture of it will help. how old is that PSU? I'd change that first before investing in anything else. Might I ask what you do with your system? Are you upgrading with respect to a broader perspective? I think you can overclock the processor provided you have a good cooler.

Where are you located?

I THINK the cooler is a EKL Alpenföhn Brocken Eco. Also the PSU is around 2 Years old i would say. Mainly im playing games on 1080p 144hz. And i live in Switzerland :)

Would be the most cost effective for you to simply upgrade to the 6700K and an AiO or higher end air cooler compared to getting something newer with a motherboard along with it

I personally have the 6700K OC@ 4.6Ghz with Kraken X62 and a 1080 Ti and the CPU holds up very well with the newest AAA titles with good temps.

If the cooler you already have is a good one then no need for another cooler.

But depending on the CX600 you have you may or may not need to upgrade the PSU.
If it's a 2017 model then you're good. But if it's any earlier of a model then it would be wise to get a better quality PSU.

So in the off chance you need to get a cooler, and a PSU, here's the full combo.

If your PC case can support a 280mm AiO then this one instead is the full combo

unless you ripped out the cages in the front of the case you are going to have to go with an air cooler and make sure you have enough fans to fill the vents all around the case.

Here is the same CPU and PSU (since you haven't confirmed if the CX600 you have is a 2017 model or not) but with an air cooler

I dont think i have a 2017 Model.
I dont know, would a new Case be worth just for the cooler?
If so, tell me a good case, since we havent even reached the 600 yet i could afford one

The case comes with two fans
1 in the back and 1 on top since the front will have the AiO.
The top supports two fans so I threw the extra in there to fill the space.

The cooler comes with thermal paste already on it, but if you feel you want to clean it off and apply your own I kept the paste in the list as a purchase.
also doesn't hurt to have it in general in the off chance you take things apart and need some to put things back together.
