So I'm planning on building a pc, but I was wondering which cpu I should buy: the older i5 6600k or the new i5 7600k. My question is: is there a big difference in performance between the 6600k and the 7600k. And is that difference big enough that it's worth to buy the newest i5?
pls help!

Solution
It's not truly a big difference. To take advantage of Kaby Lake you will need a Z270, and depending on those prices, could be the decided factor. You will probably see a 5-10% increase of performance...IF THAT. If the 6th gen is cheaper, then go with that, if the 7th gen is cheaper, go with that. They will have nearly identical performance, especially if you are not trying to push the performance to the max.

Solution
The 7600k should be about the same price as the 6600k, if so I would get the 7600k. There is not much of a difference, in fact they perfom almost identically at the same clock speed. The biggest advantage to kaby lake is higher base clock and turbo clocks as well as more overcloking potential.
