So I want to know which one is best. I will do some video editing and gaming. Here are the prices:
I5 6600K combo: $240 (I5) + $120 (Z170 Mobo$
I7 6700 combo: $300 (I7) + $70 (B150 Mobo)
I7 6700K combo: $340 (I7) + $170 (Z170 Mobo)
Note: I want the best one for the cost-efficient slogan.
Thank you really much !

then yes the I7 will be slightly better at rendering as sony vagas can use all the treads on the I7-6700 personally If I was you I would look at getting the Xeon 1231 v3 for gaming/rendering purposes but out of the choices you offered i7-6700k due to the software you will be using :)
personally unless you plan on gaming on AAA titles while steaming the I7 isn't going to worth the extra money, I own an i5-6600k OC 4.5Ghz along with an R9 290x and there isn't a single game that I cant run on ultra with a steady 60fps so far.

as far as gaming performance goes there is very little difference between the I5-6600k and the I7-6700k unless you stream at the same time, for cost efficacy I would say the I5 is the better choice.

you should be able too but its completely dependant on the CPU you get as they all react differently same thing stands for the reduction in lifespan its impossible to tell.

But what's the average reduction rate? 40% of its lifespan?

with the overclock you are looking at im guessing around 40% could be taken off depending on how much you use it honestly. but the estimate of 40% seems reasonable but CPU's can easily last 10 years so take 4 years off your cpu could still get to 6 years old with good other parts and by that time it would be obsolete anyway.

am on i7 6700k
16gb ram ddr4
asus motherboard

yes this processory is a beast , do not get i5 bla bla , get the latest , remmember latest is always best just for the sake of money dont do it , the i7 will last you a very long time l.

i got mine custom made and yes the i7 6700k which i have runs after effects with 500 plugins , sony vegas 10 ,cinema 4d ,3dmax peace of cake mate.

sony vegas running on i7 is joke lol , the i7 laughs at sony vegas ? sony vegas is not cpu intensive app , so i7 can handle dat np.

after effects , the i7 can handle this peace of cake also , like a boss just get ssd and good gpu and your set.

Gaming : it can run any game you throw at it , dont listen to i5 crap.

why get i5 then waste time over clocking ? over clocking means it will drain more power , more power means more electric bill.

to answer your question, yes you can overclock a Xeon but you will completely void the warrenty as soon as you do it, and the benefit is Xeons are cheaper than their I7 counterparts as they don't have the integrated graphics also for things like rendering in all the testing ive done the Xeon's usually pull a couple % ahead of the I7's but the I7's usually pull ahead in gaming so its a kind of trade off :)
