i5 6600k won't go over 4.5GHz

Hey guys, so basically I have my i5 6600k stable at 4.5GHz Core Clock, 4.4GHz cache clock and Vcore is 1.330.

If I sty raising my cache clock to 4.5GHz or my core clock to 4.6GHz, the system will boot up, but will crash in seconds when running a benchmark. I've even raised my voltage to 1.340 but I still keep getting BSOD's with those speeds.

Why is this? I literally can't get a stable overclock over 4.5GHz.

you have lost the so called sillicon lottery. Don't bother raising the voltage, it's already a bit high. Settle on 4.5 and take the voltage as low as it'll stay stable.

It can be down to a number of things, like said from just getting a bad bit of silicone the cpu is made of where it has very little overclocking potential.

To how expensive the motherboard is, what brand type it is and if it is a good motherboard for overclocking cpu`s fitted to it

And also to how good your memory modules are you bought.
Plus how good the cpu cooler is be it air cooled or a water cooling loop.

The crash happens as soon as I start the intel extreme tuning utility benchmark, temperatures are not the problem.
