Will an I3 6100 bottleneck à Gtx 1060, if it does should I go For the 6600k, or just go with a lower end gpu

Solution
The FX6300 is from 2012 and even back then it was not that good. It's not better than the i3. That post was ridiculous.

Just look at the game's you want to play. "i3-6100 with gtx 1060 GTA V" and such.
Will it bottleneck it? Yes. By 2-5%. We're talking about maybe 5-10 fps difference. Say if the GTX 1060 can run overwatch at 120 fps on ultra with a 6600k, it'll run at 110 with the 6100. The only real problem you're going to face is if you buy a significantly lower end cpu like that fx6300. If you don't want to spend $100 more on a 6600k (which you need a cooler for by the way) just get a 6400 or a 6500. You can find those for like 60 to 80 dollars more...

i3 is a dual core. It will bottleneck your GPU. Go for an amd fx6300. It will not bottleneck bottleneck your GPU. It will give you similat gaming performance like the i5. If you don't like AMD for some weird reason go with a 6500.

The fx6300, are you even serious?

Why? AMD is ok. I said if you don't like AMD go with a 6500. I have a 6600k, only worth it if you oc to at least 4.3/4.4GHz. AMD will be much cheaper and you can go with a 1070.

I run a 6600K i5 at 4.6Ghz, and it cannot bottleneck my GTX1080, even it is heavily over clocked too. And this is playing at 1080P also. Just about every game is running around 180-300 frames per second maxed out at 1920*1080.

99% GPU utilization!

If I were to run SLI GTX1080's this is where i would be in trouble at 1080P, 4K would fix it though.

A 6600K will offer a huge boost over a i3, I think it is all that is ever needed in a CPU. I use Sony Vegas pro 4-6 hours a day for work, rendering 4K video. It just flies!

I also use shadow play, and I record 4K gameplay.

My 6600K at 4.6 is always butter smooth no skip, no lag, no studdering. Just SMOOTH!

I could get a 6700K but I just don't need it!

And I encode videos happily with my 6600K.

It opens up a lot more doors for you than to just be bottleneck free with your gtx1060.

With that GPU you'd probably be fine with an i3. I don't know for sure, but you may see a bit of bottlenecking. There's a fairly significant difference between an i3-6100 and an i5-6600k. If you wanted to spend that extra $100 the better CPU would be a good investment, especially if you'd want to get a better GPU in the future.

I would buy a Intel i5 6400. They cost roughly $179.99.

Or look for a used 6600k for around 175-190

Yes the i5 6400 can be overclocked to 4.75Ghz on average via bclk in the BIOS. Look it up!

The i5 6400 or, a 6600K running at stock speeds all the way to 4.6+Ghz cannot be bottlenecked by any single GPU solution available today!

Very easy..

Make sure you get a Z-170 motherboard so you will have the ability to control bclk, and voltage.

I recommend this CPU all the time! And after they've got it running at 4.6+ in Windows, they are thanking me.

I5 6400... Beastly.

Do not buy a FX6300 lol it's a lousy solution for a CPU and will bottleneck a GTX950ti..

The i3 6100 may only be a dual core. But it has really really fast single threaded speed! Like all high clicked Intel's, and a FX6300 cannot even offer that...
