Hi,
I've got a Asrock Z270i itx Fatal1ty motherboard https://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/fatal1ty z270 gaming-itxac/index.asp
And I've bought a i5 7400 CPU, which is compatible according to the list https://www.asrock.com/mb/intel/fatal1ty z270 gaming-itxac/index.asp#CPU
And this is not working. The computer starts and I get no post, then it stops again and restarts in a boot loop?
I've tried this with 2 different i5 7400 CPUs now and I think its not the CPU thats the problem.
I also have another computer, which has Asus Z270i Strix gaming motherboard (which also shows compatible CPU fpr i5 7400
) and a i7 6600k. I put both the i5 7400 in here and it does not work.
Both motherboards say that a new bios is not needed and it should work with all bios revisions.
So Im stumped,
I wonder is there some kind of switch to get an i5 working with these motherboards, or is there something maybe I overlooked? Maybe I should updat bios anyway?
Cheers
Si
