So I have an I5 7400 and I was thinking on swapping from Intel to AMD because I heard that AMD is performing better nowdays. The case would be upgrading to Ryzen 2600, so would it worth it? I also would upgrade the other componets, like an MSI B450 Tomahawk and a Corsair Vegeance LPX 2x8 3200Mhz kit and a Ryzen 2600

Specs:
CPU: I5 7400
MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB 2400Mhz
GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1050 TI OC Windforce
PSU: Corsair RM550x
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
SSD: WD Green 240GB
Case: NZXT H440

Hello Attila05,

In my opinion, you should upgrade from Intel to AMD, as the Ryzen 5 2600 is much better than the i5 7400. The motherboard and RAM choice are very good, so stick with them

Depending on the games you play you may not notice much of a difference between those CPU's with your current GPU. An i5 7400 should be able to get the most out of a 1050 ti in most games, in those games you may not notice any difference. The Ryzen 2600 is no doubt quite a bit more powerful than an i5 7400 but you wont see that difference unless you have a GPU that can take advantage of the extra performance the 2600 could provide.

You can test this by looking at GPU usage with vsync off in your games. If you are getting close to 100% usage in a game then a CPU upgrade likely wouldn't do much for that game.

The i5 7400 will fall flat on its face, in titles that use of more than 4c/4t. In such titles the ryzen 5 2600 will be much better. You wouldn't see an increase, in max FPS, given the GPU, but I would bet the .1% lows/microstutter, due to CPU not having enough resources, would be far improved. The GPU does need an upgrade, though.

I would stick with Gigabyte GPUs, so would the 1660 OC Windfroce woth it? I also saw the Zotac GTX 1660 AMP, that looks good and its a little bit cheaper too
