Hello guys,

At the moment I am running the following configuration:

I5-750
Dell Vostro 430a Motherboard
TeamGroup Vulcan Red 8GB DDR3 2400MHz CL11 Dual Channel Kit
SAPPHIRE Radeon™ R9 390 NITRO, 8GB GDDR5, 512-bit, Back Plate
SSD Intel 535 Series 120GB

I would like to know if it's worth "upgrading" to something like i5-2500k or i7-2600k alongside a z68 motherboard. I plan on building a new PC in around 1~ year from now, and this I will be giving to my girlfriend(once i build the new one).

Which would be better ? i5 2500k or i7 2600k ? I'm doing mostly games on the pc, she would be more into Sony Vegas. I'm a bit at a crossroad because i can buy an i5-2500k + motherboard for the price of an I7-2600k. Is it worth the extra buck for the i7 considering that she will most likely do some light video editing besides gaming?

Thank you in advance!

If you're on a budget and she's only editing video once in awhile the i5 would still work. It just won't be quite as fast, but it will still do the job.

This comparison isn't in english but if you read between the lines a bit it shows a comparison in seconds of time taken (lower being better) and how the 2500k compares to the 2600k at stock speeds with vegas pro 10.
