I5 750 vs i7 860

How powerful is i7 860 vs i5 750. Benchmarks indicate 20 to 30 % what I dont understand is that the i7 860 has 4 cores and 8 threads then how come its so less powerful than the i5 750 ?

20-30% more?! No way even in synthetic benchmarks. It's more like 4-5% on average. This is due to the logical cores being substantial less powerful than the physical cores.

Both are quad core, the difference is on the number of thread, see the links.

the i7-860 is a quad core, the i5-750 is a dual core, make your maths.
