i5 7500 or i7 7700 on H110M Motherboard?

I'm currently using MSI H110M grenade motherboard with i5 6500. hypothetically, is it possible to upgrade to i7 7700 without having to buy a new motherboard?

Yes, ur mobo does support the kaby lake CPU( https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/H110M-GRENADE.html#support-cpu ). It might need a BIOS update though. You could check more on that in the manufacturer website about the version that is needed for the kaby lake CPU. AFAIK, kaby lake doesnt offer much improvements than skylake for you to spend money on the newer CPU. i7 might help you if you're doing more editing and streaming while gaming and so on. I don't think I will upgrade at anytime soon, if I have waited for a month or more I could have bought 7th Gen. I bought it at 23rd november 2016. The mobo I bought is very basic anw.
