i5 7500 Saying I have 2 Cores

So recently, I bought the i5 7500 and when I go to look in task manager it says I have 2 cores - core 0 and core 1.
It’s the same with those pc temperature apps. I would like to know how to fix this and if it’s affecting my pc’s performance

Can you provide specs of PC? Is your motherboard UEFI fully updated? Any cores disabled in the UEFI? Is CPU correctly identified in System Properties?

Was this CPU dropped into an existing install/Windows installation?

SLap in some WIndows media, do a repair install, save data

You'll want to clear cmos and do a fresh windows install
