I5 7600 bottleneck with gtx 1080 ti

I found this benchmark with 7600K vs 7700K + GTX 1080 Ti. It might be normal performance with your i5-7600. As I was saying at first, some games are more CPU dependent. Some games won't notice a difference between the i5 & i7 while others have noticeable differences.

We can't answer that. You WILL get better performance in many games, however if your goal is 60FPS and you meet that already then it may not be worth the cost.

2560x1440 will reduce the CPU load as well, so your CPU bottleneck can disappear or lessen if you run that resolution (which you SHOULD with a GTX1080Ti) over 1920x1080.

But... considering how much you spent already, I would strongly consider getting the i7-7700K, possibly OC further if you have a good cooler, then sell the i5-7600. Games are likely to use more of the CPU in the future.

And game SMOOTHNESS in many games will improve with the extra threads even if the average FPS is similar.

Now this system should be good for many more years. I have an i7-3770K (at 4.5GHz) + GTX1080 and have absolutely no intention in upgrading for another five years. If a game won't run well on my system then I just won't buy it. Plenty of games that will even five years from now.

You won't gain much of anything besides stuttering and screen tearing with that monitor. If the monitor's max is 60, then that's the most you're gonna see, even if the monitoring software you're using says otherwise. That 70/80 fps you saw was superficial - your monitor can't exceed that.

I think I saw somewhere that GTA 5 can use more than 8 gigs of ram, so if there's ANYTHING actually worth upgrading in your setup, its that.
