Question I5 7600k stuck at 3.8ghz?

Hey everyone, just wondering something. I have an msi b250m pro vd mobo paired with an i5 7600k. I know this board isnt capablr of overclocking, but this cpu should turbo boost to 4.2ghz right? I just cant seem to make it happens even when playing. Anything I can do on bios or something?

What are your full specs? Only under light loads would CPU boost to max rated turbo. Most often in the middle on average. Had an i5 7600k myself, and at stock settings when running a full load on all 4-cores would result in 4ghz max.

OK. Any settings relating to turbo, ect. in UEFI? Does your CPU ever hit 4.2? Being B250 based, your options will be limited. Some boards can force all-core to max rated turbo. By default, your going to be limited to single core loads to be able to hit 4 2

Do I need to look or change voltage settings or something or just look for a "boost" option?

No changes with voltage. Just to see if anything related to turbo boost, all core boost, ect. Not sure of MSI options.

I think I got it. Intel turbo boost was disabled, had to enable control per core and change them. Got 1 core to 42 and the others to 41.thanks for the help, cheers.

I feel like everything is kinda worse? Like stuttering etc, is this normal? :/

Hmm, that's odd. Shouldn't be worse than before. Have you tried going back to previous settings to confirm this anomaly?

Still testing, but was pretty sure it wasn't like this, even though I'm just testing pubg, and this game, well. Its pubg

I feel lower frames but definitely stuttering over all even on windows, testing now Rolling back to previous configs
