i5 7600k vs i7 7700k in adobe premiere

Hello to everyone.
I have a small problem i don't really understand.
I broke my i5 7600k upon delidding, and bought a i7 7700k, cause why not. With the i5 i could edit in premiere smoothly but with the i7 its so laggy. I get red frames (not visible on exported video) if i pause the video while editing, audio gets out of sink.
Didn't change anything in adobe btw.

some specs: i5 was clocked to 4.9
i7 is clocked to 4.4 cause of cooling
GPU gtx 1060 6gb oc ( in game clocks to 1995 Mhz)

any ideas?

Did you try reinstalling windows/drivers? Sounds like a software issue to me. Was the 7700k used or new?

not sure what drivers you mean, i just changed the cpu and that was it
and yes the cpu was used, but does it matter, as it performs better as the i5 in cinebench even with 4.4 oc, and export time is better to in premiere

You need to reset Bios and reinstall Windows after swapping a cpu.

same architecture but more horse power.....
does not make any sense
i changed from i3 6100 to i5 7600k and was no problem

about bios i know, but reinstalling windows , hm...

it is a bug in audio settings
