i have an hp laptop 8 Gb ram, 1tb hDD, i5-8250u. my problem is that while simply listening to something, browsing and using microsoft word the cpu fan is at max for the entire time. on speccy, the average core is around 55 degree's Celsius and highest single core speed is 68 degrees celsius. The speed of the fan is loud enough to drown out something on low volume.

anything to do? thanks

p.s. computer knowledge at a 3 out of 10.

Solution
You can try to check the vents are not clogged with dust or fluff or the heat sink fins and fan if you can get to them. Can be a bit difficult on a laptop.
That's if it has gotten louder since you've had it, if it's always been loud then that's not it.

Solution
go to:
setting -> system -> power & sleep -> additional power setting -> change plan setting -> change advanced power setting -> processor power management -> set maximum processor state to 50% or less -> in system cooling policy set it to passive
