Hey! When i only have chrome running, my cpu is about 10 % usage. But when i play fortnite it goes up to 100%. It stays around 90-100% when i play fortnite. I have an gtx 1070. It this cpu usage normal? Thx

it sais in the title that the cpu is an I5-8400. Full specs:Intel Core i5-8400 (2,8 GHz)

6 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 3.0 Type-C, 2 x USB 2.0, DVI, HDMI, 3 x Displayport
WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2x2) & Bluetooth 4.0
Windows 10 Home 64
500W PSU

What game settings are you playing in? Also, try and check Task Manager, you might have some other rogue program using your CPU.

If you have a 60Hz monitor, it cannot show more that 60 fps. Do make sure your game is not locking the FPS to 60 f you're worried about fps.

This still does not explain the 100% CPU usage. What programs were using your CPU when it was at 100%?

Where is your monitor's video cable connected? To the card, or to the I/O panel (where all the other motherboard ports are)?

Also, a screenshot of the Task Manager when you're having this problem will help.

Fortnite : Its around 150 average, but when i look on tilted towers, i get around 50-70 and when i fly near retail i get around 70 fps. I can really feel when the fps drops because i have an 144hz monitor

Sorry as I am to say this, it is most likely your browser that is causing these slowdowns. Close it and try playing Fortnite again. Or don't, and keep playing it as you have this far. That is your choice, we can only give you advice.
