i5 8400 gtx 1060 6gb low fps

I recently just built my computer with an i5-8400 and GTX 1060 6GB however for some reason i only get 20-30 fps on CSGO. Wondering why this is exactly, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Did you inadvertently, plug the monitor's cable into the on-board video port instead of the GTX 1060's port?
