Hi,
I'm planning to build a new gaming rig. Im confused about which combo will give more performance in playing games (Planing to buy Acer 21.5 inch gaming AMD freesync monitor at 75hz refresh rate).
Below given are the combinations im planing to build

I5 core 8400 + Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb (or)
Ryzen 5 2600 + AMD RX 580 8gb (or)
I5 core 8400 + AMD RX 580 8gb (or)
Ryzen 5 2600+ Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb.

Which one will give more performance in gaming?
{Planing to play Games like DMC 5, Witcher 3, Assasin creed Odyssey etc (High graphics games)}

I would say the Ryzen 5 2600 with the RX 580 should be a solid option, since the Ryzen has SMT and the GPU is quite good for the price-performans ratio.
And with 8GB of VRAM should you be fine for a while.
And you're going for a Freesync monitor one more reason for that RX 580.

Is there any other reason to chose the Ryzen 5 2600 + RX 580?
Because I read a lot in this forum itself regarding the dominance of Nvidia 1060 over RX 580.

In my country both i5 8400(with GTX 1060) and Ryzen 5 2600(with RZ 580) will cost same. So you can ignore the budget while comparing the performanc

Would still prefer the CPU for sure, yea, Intel may better in Gaming, but when you're going to "Multitask" the Ryzen still is the better choice and for future more viable.
What PSU do you have atm? Is that the one you're going to use with the new parts?
You can also go for R5 2600 + GTX 1060, but then you don't need to buy a Freesync monitor. :p

I don't have idea for multitaksing. My intention is only for gaming. In this case, AMD is stepping out off Intel+Nvidia, isn't it? Also freesync is an extra feature I got when I purchased that monitor.

Yes it's an extra feature, im just saying that you just couldn't use it. :p
But this is just quality of life improvements, which can be ignored.

By only gaming performance definitely the Ryzen 2600 + Nvidia.
Dont forget that the i5 CPUs doesnt support Hyperthreading, which can be a massiv boost.
E.g. For games like World of Warcraft which works with mostly one core because of an old engine, the Intel would be the better one here.
But all the newer games (like AAA titles) can work with up to 4 core's mostly and this means your cpu isn't loaded on 100% when you play.

You can search for some benchmarks, especially benchmarks of the games you want to play.

If i had to choose between the part's i would definitely take the R5 2600 and the 1060.
