I5 8400 on a b360 motherboard

Im soon going to be building a coffee lake system, I have everything i want to buy wrote down after months of searching and finally found all the components i want.

The CPU and motherboard I'm looking to pair is the i5 8400 and the MSI gaming plus B360 motherboard

As most people know intel say the i5 8400 runs 2.8GHz but it actuall turbos to 3.8GHz so my question is if i paired the i5 8400 with a non overclockable motherboard will the CPU still turbo to 3.8GHz or will it be restricted and stay at 2.8GHz?

do you mean turbo boost? yes the mobo support it

Not sure what its called but got told it auto turbos to 3.8GHz and all the benchmarks ive seen has the CPU running at 3.8GHz and they said they didnt have to touch anything it just automatically runs at 3.8GHz?

turboboost is a stock feature for i5 and i7. So no, it’s not restricted on b360 motherboard.

yes, it turned on by default.
