i5-8400 on a Z-series motherboard?

I'm building my first gaming PC and I was originally planning to use a i5-8600k which means that to overclock it I would need a Z-series motherboard. Now, I have decided to go with a i5-8400 because I felt that the extra $100 (CAD) was not worth the performance difference. I do not need a Z-series motherboard anymore since the 8400 is not OC-able. Should I still go with the MSI Z370-A Pro that I was planning to get, or should I opt for something else?

I would just get a solid b360 motherboard
