Hi there,

wanna ask if its a good gain from 8400 to 2700x?

currently using i5 8400+z370+16gb 3200mhz ram and gtx 1080 ti. playing at 1440p 144hz monitor.

i have a buyer for my old mobo and cpu.

here in my country i found a good bundle of x370 asus prime and 2700x, im gonna shell out around 90$ for this upgrade in total

may ask if theres a difference bet x470 and x370 in performance? im also preparing for the incoming ryzen 3rd gen. big thanks

No its not a good upgrade at all for gaming. Spend a bit on a CPU, update the bios on your motherboard first, after that buy a 9600k and half decent cooler or if you've got the cash a 9700k.

You will not see any worthwhile gaming performance gain moving to that and system. Not only that you've got a decent system and a CPU upgrade is bound to be loads more affordable than a new motherboard and CPU.

why you got a 'Z' motherboard for a locked CPU ?
and no for purely gaming i wouldnt move to AMD, AMD is good but for Purely gaming Intel is still better..

i would get me 9th gen unlocked chip for an upgrade i wouldnt move to AMD.

however if you do other stuff like edition and work work, then and only then moving to 2600x from 8400 is worth it.
you are good bro.. just shush the guy who wants to buy your pc and play some games and you will be just fine. dont stress it out. you good.

i chose z for future upgrade then suddenly intel 9th gen was launched. i watched the amd's ces by this another Chinese woman and stumble upon this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yj__cPzjO9E. Now most of you suggesting the i5 9th gen, i quickly jumped to asrock site and download the latest bios supporting 9th gen.

If i go with 2700x ill spend around 120$ after i sell my mobo+cpu (x370 prime pro+2700x promo)
If i5 9600k ill spend 100$ after i sell my cpu (i5 9600k+z370 killer)
If i7 8700 ill spend 140$ after i sell my cpu (i7 8700 non k+z370 killer)
If 8700k its 220$

cant decide yet by the way i have aio 120mil jonsbo cooler and my budget for this upgrade is 150$ only. i converted the price in current exchange rate here in my country
