Ryzen7 2700 or i5 8400
I don't wanna do any overclocking or streaming. Only for gaming.
I think the 2600x is the cpu for you then it games better than the 2700 and has at least one probably 2 more generations of cpu available for upgrade down the road if needed later

The 2700 will outperform the 8400 - even just down the multi-core performance.
The 8400 is usually compared with the 2600 / 2600X.
So also depends on your budget constraint.
But the 2700 is the winner IMHO. But again, 2600X to consider.
Actually the 2600x beats the 2700 in every game on the suite. Add a slightly better cooler to it and it'll really kick it up to nearly 4.0 on all cores (the 2600x) by itself

Yes, I agree, I was stating the comparison between the 2700 and the i5.
