Hi, just wondering if how many ram can I use on my i5 - 8500
I have a b360 F board which has 4 ram slots.

it say's on intel's website that
Max # of Memory Channels - 2

https://ark.intel.com/products/129939/Intel-Core-i5-8500-Processor-9M-Cache-up-to-4-10-GHz-

idk if that says the number of rams I can use on my cpu or that's something else?

Solution
You can use up to four sticks totaling no more than 64gb. Dual channel means that if you have two sticks in the correct slots the CPU can use them at twice the speed.

You can still fill all four slots but you will not gain anymore speed benefits over using only two.

If you are just gaming or using it for general use two 8gb ram sticks will be great.

Yeah, mostly it'll just be for gaming, and some studying stuff current setup is 2x8Gb I think it'll be fine for me now. Thank you for your answer.

No problem. Just make sure your ram is in the correct slots for dual channel. Usually it’s the second slot from the cpu socket and the furthest slot. Rarely it will be different but that is the usually setup on most boards.

Usually you won’t need more ram than 16gb unless you are editing a lot of pictures or videos or other professional uses.

oh about that, I let the tech assemble my system unit he put the ram on the first and third as I feel this computer is so much faster (coming from an i3-2100 gtx960 8gb 1333hz) it really is a huge jump. maybe i'll switch it after a few months when I clean this from dust. once again Thank you for your prompt reply. :)
