[SOLVED] i5-8600 to i5-10400

Good day, in our used market here someone is selling an i5 10gen proc cheaper than a brand new one. Is this a decent upgrade> been using my 6c6t cpu since 2017. I am just a casual gamer playing only on my day off and after work at 1080p 60hz. My pc is connected to my TV in case my wife wants to watch a movie while I play games. My GPU is my trusty GTX 1070. I understand that I will be using a new mobo. I could also get an i3-12100f insted? (i5 12th gen is out of my price range). Thank you.

Where are you limited? Meaning do you need a CPU upgrade? Usually gamers need a GPU boost. You might even need a RAM upgrade if you have only 8GB, or slow RAM. What are your system specs? When doing your most demanding thing, what is holding you back? Looking at the task manager while doing the demanding thing can tell you this.
