Hi guys,

I just created a new account, however I am not a new member here. I have searched for build threads around the I5 8600k cpu and have not found any for my needs or price range and want to ask for some help. I am building around an I5 8600k cpu and have $700 to spend on parts. I need everything besides the cpu. I will be using the computer for photo, video editing and gaming. Basically for these purposes, I want to ask what are the best components I can get for $700, thank you.

I also do not intend to O.C. I just want something reliable and fast for the years to come.

Solution

Go with the machine I just posted then.

I would go with a faster GPU though, like a GTX 1060 ideally, solid mid range GPU.

You can change the M.2 SSD for a 860 EVO 250 GB to save a few bucks and still have a great SSD.

All the parts are high quality that I posted.

I already have a monitor it's older but here is the link to it:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.newegg.com/amp/products/N82E16824001806#ampf=undefined

Also, I don't have the processor, but for my needs I think I'm sticking to the I5 8600k.

I'll be doing photo editing some video and some gaming. Gaming doesn't have to be on ultra high settings, just what the monitor can handle. Also, I don't play a specific game, just want it to be able to handle any game thrown at it at a good resolution with as close as possible to 60fps.

If you don't already have the CPU that is the problem not finding something in your $700 budget that will work.

You need to save up more money, just being realistic here, you really need around $1,000.

The CPU price is not a problem. Which means I will most likely be purchasing the i5 8600k. I'm asking what can I get for $700 not including the CPU in the budget. So basically I will be spending around 1k.

I was thinking I want at least a 1060 gtx GPU, also should I just go ahead a fork up a little more money for ddr4 3200? Or would I not see that much difference between 3000 and 3200?

For this build, I'm thinking I'm going to split it up maybe to have all the parts in 3 months. Should I buy the GPU last since there maybe sales and what not within that time frame? I could just purchase everything at once, but I'm not in need of finishing this build that quickly so I decided to take roughly 3 months and buy different parts every month.

Yeah, GPU last.
