Hi, I changed some things in my pc part list, but there is some things I would like to know. First of all, the i5 8600K has intergrated graphics, so if I put in my GTX 1060, will the intergrated graphics work WITH the GPU or just do nothing and leave all the work to the GPU. Second of all, since the 8600K doesn't come with a cooler, I added the "Cooler Master - Hyper 212 LED 66.3 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler", but I'm scared it won't fit because of the RAM. Lastly, would I be able to overclock with this cooler?

When you install the 1060 the integrated GFX will be disabled.

The case allows for up to a 160mm cooler. The 212 is 159mm. It will fit in your case...

The fan on the 212 can be slid up just a wee bit to allow for RAM cleanance. Only the first slot might you have some issues. I used shorter Kingston HyperX Fury. Something like Ripjaws 5 might be too tall.

I would instead choose the Cryorig H7 which is less expensive, a lot shorter, cools a we bit better and doesn't present any clearance issues.

Ya, the CM 212 LED is a fairly small cooler, shouldn't give you any issues. As for graphics, I had a similar question awhile ago, if you put the GPU in the integrated graphics just disable and won't be used. You can only use integrated graphics along with a GPU with some select AMD APU's. But your on Intel soo.

Not totally true, the 212 is known for blocking slot 1 with the fan if its oriented to exhaust towards the back. However theres little clips holding the fan on that you can move the fan up a bit and should clear many taller ram sticks. LP ram doesn't have an issue with it.

Good call on AMD Dual graphics though. Only older APUs, and it sucked.

Ya, I'm still running an A8 5500, that's the only reason I even know about it. I considered using it, until I realized my motherboard is trash. The top 16x slot is dead and the BIOS is trash so I can't allocate more than the stock 512mb's of ram to it. My A8 5500 isn't that bad all things considered, but I'm heavily VRam limited in almost every game.

Yeah, but isn't the H7 a bit louder too? Also a few degrees isn't that big of a deal when your system is quieter overall.

I've never heard complaints of the H7 being any louder than the 212, in fact I've heard the opposite. Also:

https://www.kitguru.net/components/cooling/dominic-moass/cryorig-h7-air-cooler-review/5/

5 degrees difference in performance is a pretty significant jump. It literally is on par with a Coolermaster 280mm liquid AIO cooler.

Interesting, I've talked to friends that have used the H7 and the 212 and they all said they liked the 212 more since they thought it was quieter. Also, 5 degrees isn't really THAT significant of a jump, while it's noticeable it wont effect performance since those coolers keep the CPU's that cool anyways.

5 degrees is huge when overclocking which is the point of a big cooler like this (otherwise they are literally for show and noise, as a stock Intel or AMD cooler is more than enough otherwise). That kind of difference is a lot of overclocking headroom.

Coolermaster is a good value brand, but was never known for making the quietest of fans, I'm not sure what your friends though they heard, but the 212 is an older design with a known ram clearance issue, where the H7 clears everything while at the same time being overall shorter and cooling better. The 212 had its day but its long in the tooth now.

Just read some professional reviews of both, the Hyper 212 is louder than the Cryorig H7. The 212 is also nearly 15mm taller and slightly more complicated to install. Plus the H7 cools slightly better.

A lot of times the H7 goes on sale for $30. I would recommend it over the 212.

Interesting, dearly noted. I would say get which ever is cheaper at the time of buying.
