I5 8600k Upgrade?

I was recently researching the new Coffee Lake CPU's and found that the i5 8600k is on par with the I7 7700k, if not slightly better. I'm currently using a 4-year old I5 4670k and have noticed that it has started to slow down significantly in most games, especially CPU intensive games. I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to upgrade to an I5 8600K since it has 6 cores and clearly outperforms my current CPU. I was thinking about upgrading my RAM, motherboard, CPU cooler, etc anyway because I want to generally update my components for when I buy a new GPU. (Currently using an R9 390)

Yeah, the 8600k would be a solid upgrade from what you have. Though I have the 4670k with a 1070 and haven't found it to be lacking in any games I play. I guess most of the stuff I play is more GPU intensive though.
