i5 8600k vs Ryzen 7 1800x

I wondering whether I should get the i5 8600k (which is like $279), or the Ryzen 7 1800x ($219 on Newegg, which is $180 off, normal price is $400).
PC Build is mainly for gaming, productivity, and school
If I get the 8600k, I'm getting the ASUS Maximus X Code(when it comes out)
If I get the 1800x, I'm getting the ASUS CROSSHAIR VI EXTREME AM4

Parts I already have:

ASUS STRIX GTX1080
2x8 GB 3200Mhz RAM
Intel and AM4 Compatible AIO

Parts I don't have yet:

CPU
Motherboard

I suggest the Ryzen 7. However, that's just me, I am a more AMD guy for CPU especially with there newer ryzen lineups.
