I5 8600k vs ryzen7 1700x Which on should I use?

Hello I'm building/buying a new pc and I was planning on using for everyday use plus constant gaming. Also some light streaming and video editing to YouTube. I'm going back to college and working so I only be gaming on my pc a little more than 20hrs a week. The rest is going to modern crap and research for school.

Personally I'd go with Ryzen. 8 Core/16 Threads over 6 Core/6 Threads.

Also, the platform is cheaper to OC on.

They say if you OC the r7 it'll be better than spending the extra 100 for the r8 plus my budget is 1400. Should've mentioned that lol
